Sometime around the beginning of the eighth month, it is a good idea to think about the items you will need to be prepared for labor and afterward. We suggest you pack the following items in advance.
For a comfortable labor
Comfort after the birth

Cotton nightgown (Front opening with buttons or snaps is easiest for nursing Moms.)

Bathrobe

Slippers

Nursing bras |

Outfit to wear home from the hospital
(You will probably still fit into your maternity clothes-don't bring clothes that fit pre-pregnancy, they won't fit for a while.)

Personal items (makeup, toothbrush, deodorant, contact lenses/glasses, etc.)

A bottle of witchhazel for stitches
|
|
Calendula and hypercium cream (available at health food stores) for a sore perineum

Other items

Outfit for the new baby to wear home

Receiving blanket
|
|
Infant car seat secured in the back seat of the car
