How a child becomes eligible for special education and related services - Over the next few months, we will be bringing you a special series: A Parent's Guide of how a child becomes eligible for special education and related services, parents' rights and responsibilities, and a school's rights and responsibilities.

This month: Letter Writing and Your Rights as a Parent: Throughout your child's school years, there is always a need to communicate with school: teachers, administrators, and others concerned with your child's education. There are also times when the school needs to communicate with you, as the parent. Some of this communication is informal, such as phone calls, comments in your child's notebook, a chat at the bus stop or at a school function. Other forms of communication are more formal and will need to be written.

Next month: YOUR RESPONSIBILITES AS A PARENT

Trick or Treat Safely - Okay, before you skip this article due to its repetitive nature, we've spiced up your Halloween Safety to include the Top 10 Costumes of 2003! So, to help keep your children safe on Halloween, and to ensure they're trick or treating in style.

Treating Asthma During Pregnancy Reduces Health Risks to Newborn - Treating pregnant women with ß2 agonists for mild to moderate asthma can help prevent intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR), low birthweight, and preterm delivery, according to a study in the October issue of Obstetrics & Gynecology.

Hot New Techie Tool- All In One SecretMaker combines 7 powerful tools together in one software: Spam Fighter, PopUp Killer, Cookie Eraser, History Cleaner, Privacy Protector, Banner Blocker, Worm Hunter and soon more services for your protection. All in One SECRETMAKER is freeware, without ads and required registering.
