Holiday Safety - It's that time of year again, but what, you say? New baby or young toddler in the house? Keep the Mistletoe berries away from young mouths! You mean you want a Christmas tree too? Did you say glass ornaments? Chanukah candles? You'd better read this! Get tips to keep your holiday festivities safe and fun for all! http://www.robynsnest.com/holidaysafe.htm

Toy Safety - With the holiday toy buying season, it's a great time to brush up on a few short rules when selecting toys for your own children as well as grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends. http://www.robynsnest.com/toysafety.htm

Congratulations to our Grandparenting Advisor, Sally Houtman! - Sally and her husband welcomed Johannes Thomas Hendrik Houtman on Thanksgiving Day at 2:59 p.m. The little guy weighed in at a whopping 9 1/2 lbs and measured 22 inches! Both mother and son are doing well. Congratulations again, Sally! http://www.robynsnest.com/sally.htm

We're Expecting Again! The Robyn's Nest Family just continues to grow! Dr. Randi Sperling, Senior Consultant/Pediatrician http://www.robynsnest.com/sperling.htm is officially expecting her first baby! We also still await the arrival of Pediatric ER RN, Amy Molina's new addition. This will be her 4th! She's hit about 30 weeks now and rumor has it, it's a boy?! Hang in there, Amy! http://www.robynsnest.com/amybio.htm

Online Shopping Hints - E-Tailers are pulling out all the stops to attract your holiday shopping business. Follow these helpful hints and you'll not only save a few dollars, but you won't become a statistic.

1) Never give credit card information via email.

2) When registering to make a purchase, it is not necessary to give non-pertinent information such as age or household income or date of birth.

3) Also, be sure to check the site's privacy policy. Are they going to share your personal information with others?

4) It is recommended that a credit card be used when buying online. The Fair Credit Billing Act protects consumers from unauthorized charges that result from a purchase made on a secure server site, making the consumer responsible for only $50.

5) When buying online, be sure the site is sitting on a secure server. In many browsers, you will find a padlock in the locked position when you are visiting a secure server site. If your browser does not have this feature, download an upgrade before shopping.

6) Check the site's return policy. Some sites require you to return items and you foot the postage. Some sites only allow exchanges! Others, especially ones with land stores, allow for your items to be returned at a local retailer.

7) Should you have a bad experience, report it to the Better Business Bureau http://www.bbbonline.org or the Federal Trade Commission http://www.ftc.gov

8) Save money by checking for the best price, then buying from a secure site with a low price guarantee. Be sure to jot down the site where you found the item cheaper.

9) Here at Robyn's Nest, we recommend E-Toys http://www.robynsnest.com/toybox.htm
And Toys 'R' Us (via Amazon.com) http://www.robynsnest.com/bookstore.htm.
Both sites are well known for security, efficiency and a low price guarantee.

Potty Training Support Group - Join our potty training support group! Simply send an email to robyn@robynsnest.com. Please type Potty Training Support in the subject heading. We plan to meet in the chat room and gain support through email. Talk with other parents going through the same struggles. Share your experience, strength and hope!

Dressing Baby - As the cold weather approaches, most people think they need to bundle their little ones like Eskimos! At Robyn's Nest, we've eliminated the guesswork. Learn how to dress your baby for outdoor shopping or excursions during the cooler seasons. http://www.robynsnest.com/dressingbaby.htm

Thank you all for your continued support. We at Robyn's Nest wish each of you a Happy and Healthy Holiday season! May God Bless you all!
